MUSHROOMS
- Our shiitakes are harvested at juvenile and adult stages
HARVEST
- Harvest is manual, once a day
- The handling is minimized. Our staff grades the mushroom while harvesting, and mushrooms are packed in the same packages where they will be sold
- Once in harvest trays, the mushrooms are refrigerated in an adjacent food-processing room, and are ready to be processed.
PACKAGING
- Daily. It initiates once the temperature of the mushrooms arrives to 4șC and it finishes within two hours since mushroom has been harvested.
- The whole packaging process is carried out in a refrigerated environment.
- The package labeled as TAKE XOP, is the result of studies carried out by researchers at the University of Barcelona. The optimum parameters that allow the best mushroom conservation have been analyzed in controlled atmosphere. The package, packaging conditions and label have been patented or registered
DISTRIBUTION
- XOP delivers fresh mushrooms daily. We only deliver to the consumer material that has been packed the same morning of harvest. All the mushrooms that has not been packed before 12 hr, is frozen.
- Transport is carried out in refrigerated vehicles, own or subrogated, so our mushrooms arrive to the distributor before 24 hours since harvested.
