MUSHROOMS
- Oyster mushroom are picked in an adult stage, when cap diameter is bigger than 6 cm (2.4 inch).
HARVEST
- At hand
- XOP's workers harvest matured mushrooms daily, 1-2 times a day
- Mushrooms are cleaned immediately after harvest, so there is no extra handling that could spoil the product. Trays are filled directly at harvest
- All mushrooms are immediately cooled after picking, in the same tray where they will be packaged
PACKAGING
- Daily. It initiates once the temperature of the mushrooms arrives to 4°C and it finishes within two hours since mushroom has been harvested.
- The whole packaging process is carried out in a refrigerated environment.
- The package labeled as TAKE XOP, is the result of studies carried out by researchers at the University of Barcelona. The optimum parameters that allow the best mushroom conservation have been analyzed in controlled atmosphere. The package, packaging conditions and label have been patented or registered.
DISTRIBUTION
- XOP delivers fresh mushrooms daily. We only deliver to the consumer material that has been packed the same morning of harvest. All the mushrooms that has not been packed before 12 hr, is frozen or preserved.
- Transport is carried out in refrigerated vehicles, own or subrogated, so our mushrooms arrive to the distributor before 24 hours since harvested.
